Yale University

Official admissions.yale.edu: no fixed English-test minimum stated ("most competitive applicants" score TOEFL 100+/IELTS 7+/DET 120+), required only for non-native speakers without 2+ years of English-medium secondary schooling. Notable: Yale reinstated the SAT/ACT requirement for all applicants (including international) from Fall 2024 onward.

Official gsas.yale.edu: TOEFL-iBT 100 required university-wide (IELTS accepted as a substitute, no separate stated number — 7.0 used here as the standard equivalence). Graduate School itself sets no GPA minimum; individual departments may.

Official gsas.yale.edu: TOEFL or IELTS required for non-native speakers unless the applicant's undergraduate degree was taught in English; no single published minimum passing score was found (admission is holistic per department), but a TOEFL Speaking sub-score of 25 or below (IELTS Speaking 7.5 or below) triggers mandatory participation in Yale's Summer English Language program before matriculation. GRE required for some programs, exceptions/substitutions only where explicitly listed per department.
